I hate to give negative reviews...that being said I will begin with the positive: the facility is very relaxing and cozy. Lovely decor, small fountains, and appropriate spa music playing. Unfortunately, the technician that I saw didn't have what I would call a warm or friendly bedside manner. She suggested a microdermabrasion facial to address my concerns then directed me to lay on the table. I don't know if it's typical working policy in this spa to have customers lay on the table fully clothed or if it was just a careless technician. Anytime I've had a facial at other spas I'd be made comfortable in a robe, without shoes, and made comfortable under a blanket. I felt kind of awkward as well as cold as I was not offered a blanket. The procedure was not explained to me before it began. I'm intelligent enough to know that it included removing the outer layer of skin. She did tell me during the process that she was using a device with crystals to do just that. She never explained that it would be incredibly uncomfortable and possibly painful. She never asked during the procedure if I was handling the irritation well or if she should adjust the pressure. She couldn't answer questions about what type of facial cleanser I should be using for my skin type, or wouldn't answer...I'm not sure which. Before I left she told me she was more aggressive with the treatment since I was from out of town and couldn't come back for a follow up treatment. It turns out her aggressive idea of aggressive meant taking off too many layers of skin. I woke up the next morning with the left side of my face scabbed and abrasions on my right side. When I called to ask if that was normal and what I should be doing to mitigate the pain I was told I would receive a call back and never did. It has become apparent that this was not normal, and instead of taking responsibility and apologizing I was ignored. I look like I have road rash. This was a pretty terrible experience.
It's a great place and my few visits have gone well but I just wanted an actual whole body massage. The focus points are all that really got targeted.
This visit was my first spa experience. I had a Mother's Day gift card for a deep tissue massage. It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. I love the decor, and the comfortable seating. The complimentary water (with oranges and limes in it) was hydrating and refreshing. I didn't have to wait long at all to be in a room preparing for my massage. My therapist was Melissa and she really worked the kinks out of my muscles, especially my left shoulder and neck (where I've been experiencing a lot of pain since my pregnancy). I will be back if I have the funds available!
Tracy is a delight, such as a four leaf clover plucked from the grass. Her hand, blessed with the grace of an angel, has blessed my face with a softness and glow. To protect my now ethereal dew dropped face, from our ever lasting conquerer the sun, she carefully smoothed a nice light weight sun screen on my freshly scraped and polished skin. Her joy and soft laughter remained in my heart as I returned home. Upon my husband's arrival, at home this evening, he swore that an angel itself could do no better than the learned hand of Tracy.
I was really looking forward to a great massage. It took a long time to talk my husband into trying it. Our kids gave us gift cards so we could enjoy it. His job doesn't allow much free time. So I wasn't happy when we got a phone call, the day before, saying we had to reschedule. I just hope he will be able to attend 2 weeks later.(because of his schedule)
