At Valdosta middle the school dress code is way to strict, when young ladies wear tights the administrators think that they are trying to show leverage. "Most girls don't want that... at all" now I know that there are some girls out there that want to but, I'm not one of them. So when I go to school wearing tights I want them to know that I DONT WANT TO SHOW ANYTHING INNAPROPRIOTE !! Then when I wear deer hunting shirts that have guns and they tell me to call my mother to change. I don't want to shoot anybody "most" people wear shirts like that to show their love of hunting, not to shoot anybody. I literally know no one that would do such a thing. Then its with the hats. Some girls don't feel like doing their hair so they would like to put it in a hat, but guess what we cant because of dress code. Why cant we just have our hats inspected if they feel like that? Because I know that I don't bring weapons to school or drugs. At school when someone is getting bullied and they say "Tell an administrator" but NO ONE DOES ANYTHING!! they just send you to the counselor thinking that you're the one with the problem. The teachers see it happening and ask you if you're okay then they go. "Write a pass to the counselor" WHAT THE HECK". I'm a good kid and I have outstanding grades but when it comes to going to VMS its horrible. Nasty writings on the wall, inappropriate drawings.. to be honest its horrible. Maybe VMS will understand. Thanks, Carlie Stein
really the dress code
This school is very strict. They don't deserve any stars. It seems as though its run like a prison or somewhat a military school. How are children suppose to learn and grow if they are treated like robots? No talking, walk on a line, 15 mins to talk out of 30 at lunch, sit on the cold hard floor in your clean clothes to start your day off. At what point are they allowed to actually be kids? If you "cage" something long enough; what happens when its free after so long? Why do my elementary students have it easier? Something is very wrong here.
Love the cheer team because I am in it
I recently moved to Georgia and, started to attend VMS. Now don't get me wrong I understand education is very important but, VMS really does over due it. They are very strict and, some teachers are very rude to you for no reason. Dress code, don't even get me started! VMS should really try to fix or make their students feel more welcome at their school. Children should not dread attending school, instead they should be happy and, excited to learn. We are treated like robots with, no freedom of speech or expression.
