!!DO NOT stay here if you have the choice!! Especially if you are someone with asthma, like me!!!
i’d say $50 for our non smoking king bed room is extremely fair for the price. like everyone else is saying it’s definitely outdated but i don’t see how that’s a real issue unless you expected hilton head style rooms for $50. no bugs, we checked. bed wasn’t uncomfortable. ac works fine. lady at front desk was polite and helpful as we had many questions about the area. moving down this way from ohio and we’re down the sign the lease. stayed here to get some rest. no complaints here.
Shower is good too. New towels.
Room was very clean, comfortable and clean bed.
I got more than I expected for the money.
The TV was tubo, but worked.
Read alot of reviews that had me skeptical about purchasing a room for Thanksgiving weekend. But once I arrived, The young lady at front desk was very informative and welcoming. I know it's not the W or the residence inn and suites! But the room was very clean, no odors and was surprised how well everything functioned and operated. I brought some nice candles and enjoyed my stay with my wife and kids. Being that there asthmatic. The room didn't smell and was clean. Over all! I could not complain at the great price I paid. I highly recommend Howard Johnson for everyone in need of a inexpensive place to stay, with reasonable accommodations and great location. Next time I come to VALDOSTA I'm coming back to Howard Johnson.
the room was a decent size. Looked clean from the front to the back, bathroom and all. Decently comfy beds(nothing is as good as home). Did not use the wifi(if it's even offered I didn't look) tv worked fine. Very close to the interstate with convenient parking.
I was surprised about the room because of the reviews.
We walk in and the room smells strongly of mildew. If we hadn't been driving for over 12 hours at this point I would have been tempted to walk out and ask for a refund. The room was outdated, and I wouldnt have cared if that was the only problem with this hotel. There were holes in the walls in places and the drywall was bubbling out in others. The bathroom has no fan and has mold growing in the ceiling as well as some of the small crevices. The toilet did not appear clean and anything made of metal was severely rusted over. The door didn't even close properly, and was beginning to rot at the bottom. The floor was also sticky to the touch. I was in the room for less than an hour before my asthma started acting up, and even my allergy medication and rescue inhaler didn't help much. By and hour and a half in I started feeling sick, and even now well after we have left the next morning I'm still feeling like I'm going to be sick. Do yourself a favor and keep on driving, do not stay at this hotel.
