I do NOT recommend for anyone to live here, even if it is your "last resort". For the past couple of months I have been harassed with money to be paid for "rent", they even had an eviction notice for me because of it. However, this was not all about rent since I have always paid towards it and in time. These people at the leasing office are only after for one thing, which is MONEY. The book keeper, April stated it wasn't because of the over late payment fee of the rent, the money was from a "Damaged Carpet" from the unit I used to stay in because of all the issues I had before with a previous roommate. They blamed me to pay all the damages of the carpet that I did not do. Ever since I talked to the leasing manager, she stated April and everyone else should have offered me the option to inspect the old unit from the previous building with someone and that there should have been an option for me to do it in payments if I was unable to pay it fully. Now that I have complained because they were going to evict me, April (Bookkeeper) had finally called and had the damn decency to say I would need to pay the money in payments starting in August. Please, I recommend you to not live here at all, there are always shootings and they don't fix the front gates so people won't get access to come in. I will never ever live here again and I recommend you all to not live here. I rather have these apartments torn down and bring them down for all the headaches and stress they have caused me.
This place is AWFUL. I went against my better judgement living here, simply because of the low living expense. However, realize you get what you pay for. I have electrical overages every month, despite never running my AC or my dish washer. I’ve asked for an itemized list or meter reading from the electrical company and the property manager informed me that “there was no such thing.” The front office staff is not helpful in answering questions. I’ve been misinformed SEVERAL times resulting in late fees, etc. They close the amenities often and the gate never works. I do not like maintenance men in my house when I’m alone or when I’m not there and they refuse to try and schedule a time with me and my roommate. The “new management” is awful and they literally could not give me an overage amount for 2 MONTHS. Then, still expected an overage payment after rent was due. As of October, they were expecting me to pay overages from August. HORRIBLE, 0 STARS, DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I have learn my less reviews are your best resource I wanted to give this place a chance now I hte I did it seem it is all about the money you don't know how many times I heard this voice say to me no no this not a good choice I was told that it is student only housing which its not which is not a problem to me but this was one of my questions also my information was given out to my roommate without my permission and I had never met my roommate.I hope I can get someone to take over my contract going to call tomorrow to see now the staff was nice and the staff that went over my move in was great but I wish I would just had waited now I maybe paying some where I'm not comfortable staying.
We haven't had a working dryer in 3 months. My roommates and I have put in multiple maintenance request but it's never been fixed. i finally asked them to make sure it's fixed before the week is up and I was told to be patient! Why does it take 3 months to fix a dryer. In three months I have already paid over a thousand in rent, yet they can't afford to replace a dryer?
After my lease is up, I'm out of Blanton. There have been two shootings directly in front of my apartment. Blanton NEVER notified me of this; my roommate was the one to tell me. With the first shooting, I was not allowed to enter my house because the police wanted to inspect for bullet holes. Fortunately, I was in class. However, NOBODY notified me of this. Maybe if they close the gates and stop letting the whole city in, it'd be a little safer. There needs to be better regulations as to who lives here. I am aware that Blanton cannot control people's actions, but something needs to be done about people fighting outside at 2 in the morning! Also the overages are terrible here. I have two other roommates, which means we have a $90 utility cap. Why were our overages $71 APIECE one month and $67 the next? That would mean we used $300 worth of utilities in one month. THAT'S RIDICULOUS! Spend a little extra money and stay somewhere else. Because Blanton is NOT SAFE and they constantly cheat people out of their money.
I actually had a good review of Blanton up here a few months ago. But I definitely had to take that down because Blanton doesn't even deserve that.
